DESCRIPTION & CONDITION:
The American Antique Collector.Published in Scranton by Sam Laidacker in 1956. Vol.III, No.9.
This issue includes a long feature on lustreware, as well as notes about and listings of recently encountered historical china, historical flasks and cup plates. Starting in 1938 with his book, "The Standard Catalogue of Anglo-American China", Sam Laidacker embarked upon a journey that would land him square in the middle of the trade in Staffordshire china with American views made (more or less) between 1800 and 1850. In 1939 Laidacker began publishing the magazine "American Antiques Collector" which also focused on transferware as well as other English Staffordshire-type pottery, pattern glass and historical flasks. His work still remains interesting reading for the historical Staffordshire collector.
Softcover. 6"x9", 60 pages, black & white illustrations. Light wear, minor soil.
