Vintage 1940s Two Piece Black Satin Pant Set

Elegant Early 1940s Black liquid satin Blouse with matching trouser
Fabricated in luxe a substantial silk satin (possibly blended w/ rayon???)
The blouse features a convertible collar
Fastens with rhinestone buttons down center front with a snap at the waist.
Smocking details at the shoulders.
Self belt loop set into the side seams
Original belt missing. I have added a double faced silk satin ribbon
Fabulous full sleeves fasten with a rhinestone button and a snap at the sleeve cuff.
Flat front wide leg trousers fasten at the waistband with 3 snaps and a metal zipper down the side seam. (see photos)
They have a 1 1/2” blind hem clean finished with hem tape.
They are high rise with a slightly dropped crotch.
***Please note that zipper on pant works, these are just too small for my mannequin.

Condition: Good to Very good w/ subtle discoloration at the shoulders. I replaced some of the shoulder smocking stitching that had broken. There is a 1/4” mend to the wearer’s front left sleeve. Discoloration to the center button and some wear to the button holes from the rhinestone buttons. There was an older repair to the edge of the waistband, concealed beneath the tab. See photos. Still plenty of life to this rare find. Clean and ready to wear.
